As a co-founder of The DPAD Group, John has invested the past 13 years capturing permanent federal tax benefits for Fortune 500 corporations by filing and defending formal and informal claims for refund. With a sustention rate greater than 95%, claims have included reduction of transition tax liabilities, foreign tax credit utilization, interest expense deductibility, and optimization of section 199 deductions. John has extensive experience successfully resolving tax controversies at IRS Exam and Appeals.
Prior to co-founding The DPAD Group, John was a tax executive with Lockheed Martin Corporation for 12 years, handling high-profile international and domestic tax planning and frequently interfacing with IRS Exam and Appeals. John’s experience also includes 7 years as a tax attorney with Dewey Ballantine in New York and Washington, D.C. handling a wide array of domestic and international tax matters for inbound and outbound corporate clients.
During his tenure with Lockheed Martin, John served as Chapter President and Chapter Representative of the Baltimore/Washington Chapter of the Tax Executives Institute.
John currently resides primarily in Fort Myers, Florida, where he spends a considerable portion of his free time playing golf, with very mixed results.
